Product Manager : Co-leading the conceptualisation, delivery, go-to-market and launch of a MVP
Leading Product ConceptualisationÂ
Armed with insights from extensive research, I co-led the product and business teams to develop a clear concept for the SeaBoard app (a digital wallet), ensuring that it is feasible and aligns with user needs and business goals.Â

Setting Vision and Goals
Vision: Build a digital maritime ecosystem to empower seafarers in financial management and competency development, while optimizing accounting and operations for shipping companies.
Goal:Â
By 2024, we aim to scale the SeaBoard app to
At least 15,000 seafarersÂ
3 ship management companiesÂ
Forming Strategic Partnerships
Recognizing that we are part of a larger ecosystem, strategic partnerships are critical for the success of our product. I helped evaluate and support the integration of multiple tech platforms for banking, analytics, KYC, etc.Â
For example, our partnerships with Â
MatchMove (Banking as a Service, which rides on the Mastercard network) enabled us to leverage existing technology and infrastructure to scale our product.Â
Synergy Marine Group, a global ship management company, not only gave us access to a large user base but also industry insights.Â

Leading Product Delivery
The delivery phase was focused on transforming the concepts into a tangible product. I worked closely with the designer and developers to translate concepts to key features and functionalities.

*Note:
Basic feature refers to must-have features that address users’ most immediate pain points.
Performance feature refers to features that provide additional benefits to users, directly contributing to achieving our goals.
Excitement feature refer to features that will delight users, though not having it at the moment will not make a difference to users.
As the Product Manager and Product Owner, I ensured the project stayed on track by meeting key milestones and adhering to the highest quality standards, while balancing resource constraints, technical possibilities, and timeframes to deliver a functional and user-friendly MVP.
Developing Go-To-Market Strategy
Developing and executing a go-to-market strategy was crucial for the successful introduction of the SeaBoard app to the seafarers. This involved identifying the most effective channels for reaching our target users, having a clear launch plan and developing marketing materials.
For example, our focus was to launch iteratively to ensure we capture feedback and continuously improve.Â

We introduced the app through various channels such as youtube and print.Â
Overseeing Product Launch
The launch marked the culmination of our efforts and the public unveiling of the SeaBoard app. My responsibilities included overseeing the launch logistics, ensuring that all teams were synchronised, and that the product was thoroughly tested and deployed.
